Today I spent the 8 hour car ride from Tullahoma, TN to Berrien Springs, MI reading Frances Hodgson Burnett's lovely novel, The Secret Garden. I am ready to frolic through fields, and plant my own garden. I also believe that I would be quite proud to raise a son who turned out to be exactly Dickon. It was such a relieving book to read following The Fountainhead, because it still expressed so many beautiful philosophies, but in such a beautiful unfolding kind of way. It always inspires me how powerful childrens' books can be. Ah, but now I must rest, for I have class in the morning.
Bon New Year, and good luck with all resolutions and studying that will take place!
